What we provide

Edinburgh Audiology Rehab offer a range of audiological services from routine hearing tests and wax removal to tinnitus management, vestibular rehabilitation and counselling. Our independent audiologists are qualified to masters level, have significant experience within the NHS in their specialist fields and are HCPC and RCCP registered. At E.A.R we aim to offer comprehensive patient centred services at accessible prices. We have have clinics in both Roslin and Loanhead. Virtual consultations are available for tinnitus and also sound sensitivity.

E.A.R is an approved provider for the following insurance companies: BUPA, AVIVA, AXA PPP Healthcare, Vitality Health, Cigna, Aetna Global Benefits and Healix health Services Ltd.

E.A.R are proud to be a corporate member of the Tinnitus UK supporting those with tinnitus and funding much needed research into treatment.

Bev Herne

Bev has sixteen years experience in the management of tinnitus and sound tolerance problems. She is an experienced specialist audiologist with additional post graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She is able to provide individually tailored management plans around improving sleep, concentration and hearing alongside reduced tinnitus distress and awareness. The experience of tinnitus varies greatly between individuals and management plans should reflect this. Bev also utilises CBT techniques to help clients with sound tolerance problems such as hyperacusis or misophonia. Bev has recently undertaken additional training in relaxation therapy. Appointments can be conducted in person or virtually via Teams.

Bev is a volunteer facilitator for Tinnitus UK’s online support group for those with Tinnitus and Sound Tolerance Problems, sits on the British Academy of Audiology’s Service Quality Committee and is a member of the British Society of Audiology’s special interest group for tinnitus and hyperacusis.

Bev is registered with RCCP and HCPC and is a registered practitioner with BUPA, AVIVA, AXA, HEALIX and VitalityHealth.

Dawn Saunders

Educated to masters level with over 16 years clinical experience, in both the public and private sectors, Dawn brings a diverse knowledge and skill base to Edinburgh Audiology Rehab. Dawn's areas of interest are within the assessment and management of both adult and paediatric patients, vestibular assessments, wax removal, tinnitus and sound sensitivity problems such as hyperacusis and misophonia. Dawn also works as a clinical lead in the NHS and works for the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman as an audiological advisor.

Dawn is registered with RCCP and HCPC and is a member of the British Academy of Audiology. She is a registered practitioner with BUPA, AVIVA, AXA, HEALIX and VitalityHealth
