“Excellent with young children
Dawn was very patient with my son who was initially agitated with having a hearing test. She explained tips and suggestions for us to try at home which led to a successful test and diagnosis at a follow up visit. We have been able to take the report she produced to an ENT consultant who is able to treat with no further tests needed which has given us clarity and helped speed up the treatment process. Would highly recommend.”

“Visited the Edinburgh Audiology dept for treatment for continual dizziness and Dawn completed the epley manoeuvre. “After a traumatic time of illness which included a symptom of pulsatile tinnitus I was referred to EAR by my ENT consultant. The service I received from Bev was absolutely outstanding and I can’t thank her enough. She saved my sanity. She was so professional, compassionate, understanding and patient with me as I was finding it difficult getting used to wearing hearing aids/finding the most suitable ones for me along with trying to deal with ongoing illness issues. “The Edinburgh Audiologist Clinic made all the difference these past few months in my experience with dizziness. The advice Dawn gave me down the phone I could honestly say, made all the difference between a month of looping anxiety and feeling like there was hope. “Having rather foolishly managing to lose my hearing aid due to it getting caught up in my mask and being catapulted into a load of bushes. I was desperate to get another one but being on a tight budget I had to source a used one online from eBay . I asked Dawn if she could help me out and reprogram it . Sadly it was not working at first but after some real expertise Dawn managed to get the new one working perfectly . Not only that she said that if in future I needed too purchase a used hearing aid, to consult with her first as she could advice me as to which types would be more suitable.
Over the years I have had dealings with a few Audiologist’s and none of them were that willing to touch used Hearing Aids. As we all know the cost of Hearing aids in particular at these difficult times are hard for some people Recycling of good quality Hearing aids is not considered by people often enough . Dawn is very understanding and does not operate hard sell . However if you want to buy new she can offer great prices from leading suppliers !00% recommend”

It’s a terrible feeling when you feel you have not done the best for your children. My daughter has had blocked ears for months, we quickly took her to the GP who in turn referred us to the Ear Nose and Throat but warned us that although she would stress how urgently we need to be seen that it still may be quite a wait as that department was stretched.. We got an appointment at the E N T after over 3 months.. The last thing I want to do is complain about the NHS as I am a huge fan, but on this occasion it was far from good.. After the quickest of assessments, we were told to come back in 4 months.. My Whole family were shocked as they are all aware how difficult a time my daughter has had in school struggling to hear her teachers.. Thankfully my big sister immediately called The Edinburgh Audiology Rehab and was given an appointment. The level of care and professionalism that we have received has been amazing.. My Daughters hearing is now “ super human “ lol. She can now hear all her teachers and friends and we can take subtitles of any tv program we watch.. I cannot express my gratitude enough to the whole team at Edinburgh Audiology Rehab.. Huge, huge thanks..”

“I recently attended the ‘Ear Edinburgh Audiology Rehab clinic’, I was quite edgy about the whole process prior to my appointment! Without delay, I was taken in and made to feel very relaxed and welcome, by a very friendly and professional audiology team.

After my procedure, the team patiently went through the test report and explained everything clearly in plain English, explaining any big words/medical terms thoroughly and the cause of the problems that had been troubling my hearing/ear issues etc. They also confirmed what could be done to alleviate these issues.

“My mum’s energy levels have been severely diminished by Labyrinthitis relapses over several years. At some point she started to experience BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) which was identified by a GP, however the medication prescribed was ineffective. By chance I received a flyer from Edinburgh Audiology Rehab and I contacted Dawn to discuss how she could help. Dawn systematically assessed my mum’s condition and agreed with the GP’s diagnosis, and recommended the corrective epley manoeuvre with follow-up home procedures. Dawn’s follow-on care was very attentive, including checks between consultations, on-going re-assessment of her improvement and a rehab plan. Mum’s quality of life is vastly improved, and the comprehensive approach to treatment met her needs. We greatly appreciate Dawn’s help and would highly recommend her.”
